Field Trips

Organizations already scheduled for Summer 2020 field trips will be contacted by the Children's Science Center to pivot to a new mobile program below or refunded. Please direct any questions by email to fieldtrips@childsci.org.

New for Summer 2020
, the Children's Science Center will bring field trips to your location! Our Science-on-the-Go mobile field trip program is available at 10:00 am and 2pm, Monday - Friday! Instead of bringing your students to the Lab, we will bring the Lab and two STEM Educators to your organization. The Children's Science Center provides 90 minutes of programming with two activities, all materials needed and a whole lot of energy and fun! Your organization provides one room for up to 30 students, two tables placed in front of the room for the Educators to place materials, access to a sink and water, and a teacher/counselor to actively participate.

In-person field trips are temporarily unavailable.
The Children’s Science Center Lab is even more fun when you are part of a scheduled Field Trip! Your students can explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts through fun, engaging hands-on exhibits and activities. Field Trips are designed for Pre-K to 6th grade levels in school classes, day schools, home school groups, after-school care, summer schools and other educational organizations that want a structured itinerary.  Field trips are scheduled in two-hour or 90 minute blocks including 10 minutes for check-in and 10 minutes for check-out/departure.

The Field Trip consists of staff supported hands-on learning activities including:

  • A pre-selected experiment in the Experiment Bar

  • A pre-selected engineering challenge in the Tinker Shop

  • Interactive exhibits in the Inspiration Hub

  • An Animal Encounter experience available for an additional fee
