We know homeschoolers school all year long, however, we know one of the benefits of homeschooling is to be where the crowds are not. Get up close and personal with our STEM Educators and ask as many questions about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) that your students can come up with!
We invite homeschool families to become Homeschool Pass Holders of the Children’s Science Center Lab and to be a part of our community of support that is dedicated to creating a world-class Children’s Science Center in our region. A Homeschool Pass gives your family access to fun, hands-on and educational activities focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), Monday through Thursday, 10 am – 6pm, September 9, 2019, through May 21, 2020. To become a Homeschool Pass Holder, stop by the Children’s Science Center Lab, call (703) 648-3130, and present your Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) Card or paperwork stating all homeschool requirements of the state have been met. Any questions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For only $99, this pass comes with admission benefits for the entire homeschool family, including two parents and all children living in the same household. Passes are not transferable among families or children living in another household. The Homeschool Pass does not offer the same benefits as a Base Family Membership. Some restrictions apply.

We are excited to announce that the Children's Science Center will be offering both in-person and virtual summer camps to meet the needs of the community.
It is our goal to have all staff members at the Lab and serving our campers vaccinated before the summer camp season. We recognize that the pandemic has brought on many challenges and therefore we are offering a generous cancellation and refund policy this summer. If for any reason the Children’s Science Center cancels an in-person camp or the camper needs to cancel due to Covid-19, we are happy to issue a full refund. We will continue to follow safety protocols and take extra measures to ensure a successful camp season. Our staff will be wearing masks and we ask that campers wear masks except when eating or drinking. The Children’s Science Center Lab will NOT be open to the general public when camps are in session to maintain the safety of all campers and staff. As a result, campers will enjoy the entire Lab to themselves!
Virtual camps will also be offered as an alternative for those who prefer to stay at home. These camps will not be affected by vaccination roll-out.
Visit the Lab beginning June 19 every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer! We are excited to welcome back families and grandparents, friends and caregivers!
All visitors are encouraged to purchase your tickets in advance and choose a timed-entry session. Two-hour sessions will be offered at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. We will be operating at a reduced capacity and we ask that you stay with your party while visiting the various galleries.
We can't wait to see you everyone in-person!
